Twitter growth? 1382%
Cnet News has a short, but fascinating article about the fastest growing company today, Twitter.
Respected ratings giant, Nielsen, said Twitter grew 1,382% from February 2008 to February 2009. Facebook was in second place with a still impressive 228% growth over the same period.
If your church leadership hasn’t heard about Twitter by now, they’re quickly becoming the minority. It’s time – nearly past time – to learn about Twitter for churches. Make sure your church leader has a copy of “The Reason Your Church Must Twitter” E-book for only $5.

Yeah, 1382% is awesome. The article shows Facebook in third place for growth though with Zimbio in 2nd at 240%. I’ve never heard of Zimbio before today, but it sounds interesting.
That momentum intrigues me – Zimbio’s kind of typical on the list, going from 800K to nearly 3 million users. Facebook jumped from 20 million to 65 million in that time. Twitter moved from a mere 500K to 8 million. The percentage gains show Twitter way ahead, but it’s only gained 7.5 million users in the time that Facebook gained 45 million. I’ll leave it up to the reader to come up with interpretations, but imho, Facebook’s gain is more impressive.
